In the land of the free, many Americans fear losing their jobs, their housing, or their children because of their legal sexual practices with other consenting adults. A 1998 survey by Susan Wright and Larry Iannotti found that 30 percent of regular BDSM practitioners said they’d faced discrimination, a quarter had lost a job, and three percent had lost a child in a custody fight.
Join our hosts Nina Hartley, Carol Queen and Mistress Shae Flanigan as we stand up for sexual freedom rights (and have some fun at the same time). Special guests include Lamalani - International Ms. Leather, Ernest Greene - Award Winning Adult Film Director and Jeff Booth from the Erotic University. If someone is part of the gay community, or into BDSM, swinging, polyamory or any other non-traditional mode of sexual expression or works in a wide range of sexually oriented businesses such as adult films, exotic dancing or as a sex worker … they know firsthand the condemnation that many in our culture direct at them. But today, more and more people are beginning to stand up for the right to express their sexuality with other consenting adults without harassment or discrimination. Woodhull Freedom Foundation works to support those efforts.
The event runs from 7:30 to 9:30 but Mistress Shae is planning on opening up the Academay for an after party till who knows when.
NOTE: No one under 18 years old will be admitted.
