Emily Rigby Forms New Studio Powered by Cezar Capone

Cezar Capone protégé Emily Rigby has formed her own label, MJ Video, as a subsidiary of Cezar Capone Productions. Rigby is a new director in adult, having helmed the “My Personal Panties” series in addition to directing Internet content for Capone’s network of exclusive sites.

MJ Video will be produced through Cezar Capone and distributed on DVD by Pulse Distribution.

Bill Fisher, aka Cezar Capone, first hooked up with Rigby about two years ago when he was filming an Extenze infomercial that she was to appear in as on-camera talent. After helping Fisher with the teleprompter, Fisher recognized her ambition and took her on as an assistant.

“Emily’s been just great since day one and she’s shown enough drive, determination and talent to spread her wings and do her own thing,” Fisher told XBIZ. “She’s learned under me for two years and just had a natural talent that is ready to shoot on her own. She’s proven herself to technically be very good and she gets really great performances from the talent.

“Unlike most female directors who come from in front of the camera, she is coming from the desire to be my protégé and to learn photography from the ground up. She’s been a dynamic student and I am terribly proud of her.”

Rigby’s first real experience on the production side came as an assistant director on “Sex Lives,” a Playboy TV show that airs this fall. From there, she’s gone on to direct the solo masturbation series “My Personal Panties” (currently wrapping volume three), and has shot scenes for MyNeighborsSexTapes.com and BadGirlsGetFucked.com.

“I started just working in the office until I finally couldn’t take it anymore and needed to get out there myself,” Rigby said. “I began going to sets, observing Bill and learning everything I could. I wanted to know the technical aspects in addition to getting super hot performances from the talent on-set.”

As for the content that will be coming out of her new company, Rigby plans to shoot in the gonzo and reality niches, but relishes shooting pro-am footage (amateur talent with professional production values) and double-penetrations.

“I love DPs like crazy and would love to shoot it. [Cezar Capone doesn’t] really have anything out like that, plus with the pro-am stuff, I just want to cut out all the bullshit and go right to the sex,” Rigby said. “I’ll try anything twice.”

Richard de Montfort Passes Away

Veteran director and still photographer, Richard de Montfort, has died. He was 53.

De Montfort, whose real name was Richard Montfort, passed away at his home in Burbank last week, said Drew Rosenfeld, the director of creative development for Hustler Video. Montfort directed dozens of movies for Hustler in the past five-plus years.

“I had been trying to reach him since last Wednesday and typically he’s the type of person who calls you right back,” Rosenfeld said. “After a week of trying, I went over to his house and knocked on his door. All his cars were there but there was no answer. I got nervous and called the police. After I left, the police told it’s been confirmed that he was deceased. They’re not giving me specifics because he’s not family.”

Rosenfeld, who brought Montfort to Hustler, said the Los Angeles native “was a true champion of his craft. And anyone that’s worked with him would know what I mean by that. And he was my friend.”

“We loved his work over here,” Rosenfeld continued. “He was very, very professional. The last project that he delivered to us was titled Hustler’s Untrue Stories: Lindsay Lohan. It’s kind of a shock. He was here on Tuesday of last week delivering materials. He directed at least one if not two movies a month for at least three or four years for Hustler.”

Montfort's Strollin' in the Colon for Hustler Video won the 2009 AVN award for Clever Title of the Year.

Wildlife Productions general manager Bobby Rinaldi gave Montfort his first job in adult about 11 years ago.

“We were over at Tight Ends, and I gave him his first box cover shoot for a movie called Heat,” said Rinaldi, who used to run the production at the company. “He was a salesman for me in the sales room, and told me he was a photographer, ‘Give me a shot. Give me a shot.’ So I finally did and he became one of the top still guys in the business, and a director. I like to feel like I started him off in the business.”

Rinaldi continued, “He must’ve done over 90 percent of my box covers [at Wildlife]. He still would do stills for me. He directed for Hustler but he was always available for me since we went back so far. I’m still in shock. He just finished something for me about a week ago.”

Rinaldi said he also developed a strong friendship with Montfort, who became one of adult's most prolific still photographers working for numerous adult companies.

“He was always there for me as a friend, more important than as a colleague,” he said. “We were always able to sit around and bullshit about family problems and other stuff aside from business. He had a sarcastic sense of humor, the same as me, and we had been working together for so long we could almost finish each other sentences. He worked for me longer than he worked for anybody in this business.”

Montfort was born and raised in Los Angeles and made his home in Hollywood for several years until recently moving to his “dream house” in Burbank, Rosenfeld said.

“He was a huge fan of comics and always attended comic book convention in San Diego. He started out his career as a comic book artist. He illustrated comics before he got into photography.”

In porn, Montfort specialized in directing some of Hustler’s harder fare. “He always did more of the extreme content for us, all of the anal stuff and the harder edge gonzo. He was a true pervert,” Rosenfeld said. “He was a huge consumer of porn long before he ever got into it. He was an honest and upstanding guy. Personally, I found the guy extremely intelligent, maybe a bit reclusive.”

Rinaldi said he worked with Montfort every month if not every other week. He said one producer coined a nickname for him that stuck.

“We called him the Dark Cloud of Love because he always wore black, a black shirt or black pants. It could’ve been 200 degrees out and that’s what he wore.”

Kayden Kross, Victim of Mortgage Scam, Pleads 'No Contest'

In late May, 24-year-old porn star Kayden Kross pled "no contest" to misdemeanor charges arising out of a mortgage scam which reportedly targeted cabaret dancers with little if any financial training and large disposable incomes.

"The situation was, I basically was talked into purchasing two properties that were in foreclosure by a broker who stood to make a lot of money by brokering the transaction," Kross told AVN. "It was a super-sophisticated transaction that I knew nothing about; it fell apart; the numbers were shaky, and the broker was just setting it up to get his fee and run, so that really screwed me up. I didn't know what I was doing or supposed to be doing, and I still don't know exactly what I did wrong and exactly what was illegal about it."

"The thing that they got me on was not filling out a contract with the people I bought the property from," she continued. "The people who I bought the property from were people who, through all of this, were trying to get money out of me, and basically through the two and a half years or however long it's been, they have been in the police station every single day, annoying the hell out of police officers, trying to get them to make a case against me so they could get a settlement out of me, and they got me on the technicality that there was no written contract, and they had never actually prosecuted anyone for that in the history of Sacramento."

Kross was sentenced to one day in jail for the offense, but was given credit for "time served": The day she self-surrendered and was booked, which meant that Kross spent no time behind bars. Additionally, charges of grand theft which had previously been lodged against her were dismissed. She was also given three years of what she described as "informal probation," which she began serving almost immediately.

While Kross declined to discuss what other obligations she may have incurred pursuant to the charges, such as any payments to the occupants of the foreclosed houses which she had bought, she assured that, "Everything that I have to do has been done."

As for how Kross got into the situation in the first place, she blamed her own naivete.

"Everyone who knows me knows I'm not the type of person who will intentionally screw someone over," she said. "I just got pulled into a situation I knew nothing about. I was trying to refinance my own house, and he was the broker, and he and the mortgage lender are the two people who did this to me. Actually, I wasn't the only girl they did this to; their general MO [modus operandi] was to take girls who had cash, which are usually house girls, and – cash and a good credit score which was all they needed, so a few girls got pulled in. The did the same thing on all of us."

Kross said she didn't know how many dancers had been similarly scammed.

"I haven't been in the loop," she explained. "I've actually done my best to stay as far away from it as possible. But they pulled this scam on a number of people, and a number of people got pulled into the legal system because of this, so it's unfortunate. My advice is never give your social security number to somebody you haven't done your research on."

Kross said that Adam & Eve, to whom Kross has been under contract, had been "extremely supportive" through the whole situation, and recently renewed her contract for a second year.

Sunny Leone will host three events this holiday weekend.

She will host a party on July 3 to kick off the holiday weekend at the Railhead inside the Boulder Station Hotel and Casino. The Sin City Sinners band also will perform at the event.

Kayden Kross Pleads No Contest in Real Estate Case

Adam & Eve contract performer Kayden Kross, who had been indicted in September on felony counts of grand theft and real estate fraud, pleaded out the charges on Monday.

According to court records, the grand theft charge has been dismissed and the real estate fraud charge was reduced to a misdemeanor. Kross pleaded no contest and was sentenced to one day in custody and three years of probation.

The charges had been filed under Kross' real name, which was confirmed to XBIZ by Adam & Eve when the charges were first filed.

William Henley, who was also named in the charges, will be back in court July 15 for further proceedings.

Black, Borden Sentenced to A Year And A Day On Obscenity Plea

After more than a five-year battle, Extreme Associates owners Rob Black and Lizzy Borden have been sentenced to one year and one day in prison after having pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute obscene materials. In addition, the couple will spend two years on probation after completion of their sentences, but will not have to pay any fine, nor will their corporation, Extreme Associates.

The fact that the couple received one year and a day rather than just one year means that they will be eligible for probation after serving just 10 months and six days, according to their attorney, H. Louis Sirkin. The couple had been facing a sentence, under the now-advisory federal sentencing guidelines, of between 22 and 27 months.
