Joanna Angel's newest sex comedy, L.A. Pink, shipped yesterday from her BurningAngel Entertainment and distributor Vouyer Media, hitting shelves Sept. 29.
Angel's first feature since early 2008's Not Another Porn Movie, this semi-send-up of TLC reality show L.A. Ink places Joanna (as "Joanna Von Angel") in her most natural of habitats: a tattoo shop. As the proprietress of the thriving parlor, she gets approached by Sean Michaels, president of Pizza Party Incorporated, to sign a licensing deal that will grant her fame, fortune and a lifetime supply of free frozen pizza ... except that it requires her to give up tattooing and sex.
"Everyone knows us as the company that shoots girls with tattoos," Angel told AVN. "It only made sense to make a feature about girls working in a tattoo shop. Fans have been asking for another feature, and I really missed making them. Plus, all the other features I have made had been produced by other companies; I really wanted to prove to myself that I could make a movie like this on my own, with my own company."
With the sea of other porn parodies flooding the market, Angel made the point that L.A. Pink stands a bit on its own, as "It makes sense with our brand and fits right in with everything else we're doing."
In addition to Joanna, other BurningAngel stars appearing in L.A. Pink include Andy San Dimas, Coco Velvett, Misti Dawn, Draven Star, James Deen and Brian Street Team. Being released in a deluxe two-disc set, the movie promises to provide Joanna's fans with loads of the signature brand of fun they expect from her.
"This movie is sexy and funny. I have faith that at least a few people who buy this will not fast-forward through the plot," Angel joked.
